The Role:

As an Intern/Co-Op in the Design Verification team, you must bring a willingness to learn and absorb new concepts, technologies, and methodologies used in the pre-Si stage of modern microprocessors, along with a sound understanding of x86-64 computer architecture. This opportunity can get you involved in challenging areas such as:

  • Feature verification and enablement;
  • Failure investigation;
  • Micro-benchmarking and performance validation;
  • Gate-level / low-power / microcode verification;
  • Profiling, deployment methodologies, and flows;
  • ML & AI use in the semiconductors design phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be developing key Design Verification skills that are relevant to the semiconductor industry.
  • You will be given guidance on what to do, and the freedom to plan and manage your own time to deliver upon agreed goals.
  • Your progress will be regularly reviewed, and constructive feedback given to help you make the best use of your time.
  • Your tasks will include documentation, coding, and debugging.

Key Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of computer architectures;
  • Good understanding of basic programming, data structures and algorithms;
  • Exposure to OOP languages (C++ / System Verilog);
  • Exposure to Scripting languages (Perl / Python);
  • Exposure to Digital Design (VHDL / Verilog).

Who We're Looking For:

Students working towards a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related subject, with:

  • Good understanding of the faculty courses that are relevant for software development and digital design and verification;
  • Passion for modern, complex processor architectures and digital design;
  • Excellent communication skills (including English);
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, willing to learn and ready to take on problems;
  • Comfort working in a dynamic, multicultural, team environment.
