Vulnerability Research Internship

The position is part of our Endpoint Vulnerability Assessment team in Cluj-Napoca. The team is tasked with finding security vulnerabilities in the endpoint product suite (and various other company systems and products) and assisting the product development teams in understanding and fixing vulnerabilities found in-house or reported via bug bounty programs. For the summer of 2021 (July - September) we have one open internship position in our team.

Role: Your mission will be to learn as much as possible, familiarize yourself with the working environment and the development processes, and use your skills to contribute to the efforts of the team.

Team Responsibilities:

• Identify security flaws in Bitdefender applications and internal systems
• Conduct vulnerability assessments of applications and networks
• Develop, test and modify custom tools for vulnerability research
• Collaborate with the product (dev & QA) teams to ensure that security flaws are fixed

Skills and Expertise:

• Curiosity & creative, non-linear thinking
• Attention to detail
• Deep understanding of technical processes and interest to develop it further
• Keenness in understanding how systems work
• Programming experience in C / C++ and Python
• Basic knowledge of secure coding practices
• Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows / Linux)
• Reverse engineering experience is a plus
• Self motivated, fast learner
