Position Overview

As an intern on this position, you will be part of a special engineering project from our Thermal and Turbo Technologies business, aiming to develop the prototype of a custom IoT device. Youl will be involved in a range of embedded interesting SW engineering activities like exploration, design, code adaptation, simulation, testing and deployment of software components and solutions, while working with industrial computers and IoT-specific data. By taking this position, you will also have the nice opportunity to learn about our Turbo Technologies and about how our global IT team helps our Business Units with research and engineering activities.

Responsibilities

As an intern, you will learn about and help with the following engineering activities:

  • Understand and discuss the requirements of the project.
  • Explore and evaluate open-source software frameworks and components that could be used as part of a solution.
  • Adapt, customize, test and deploy software components focusing on the results and the goals to be achieved.
  • Use simulation tools to validate the work, preparing the software for the real usage environment.
  • Collect, process, evaluate and present data obtained from both the simulation and real environment.

Nice-to-have Background

  • Final/pre-final year of study in SW engineering, or related IT technical field (e.g., electronics, automation).

Required Skills

  • Good understanding and hands-on experience Linux OS user-space.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with scripting in at least one commonly used language (Python preferred) and with Git.
  • Enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to explore and learn new things.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, attention to details and priorities.
  • Team spirit, reliability, and discipline in executing tasks.
  • Good verbal and written communication in English.

Preferred skills

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with CAN-bus communication and with Timeseries databases (e.g. InfluxDB).

Position Details

  • Multiple options for working hours: 4, 6, or 8 hours/day – depending on your committed availability.
  • Flexible hybrid work with 60% of the working time in office.
  • Base salary and additional benefits.
  • Start date: March-2025.
